LADWP’s solar ecosystem gives every Los Angeles resident the power to shape a cleaner, cheaper future. From individual rooftop installations to community-scale farms, our programs are engineered for affordability, reliability, and environmental impact.
Solar Rooftops enables homeowners who might otherwise be priced out to install panels with zero upfront cost, while Shared Solar lets renters and multi-family tenants lock in long-term savings and support grid stability. Both programs are backed by state-of-the-art financing and maintenance contracts that protect homeowners and tenants alike.
The Self-Generation Incentive Program (SGIP) unlocks generous rebates for solar and battery storage, giving residents the flexibility to store excess power for use during outages or peak hours. Our Solar Marketplace connects customers to vetted installers, ensuring transparent quotes, quality workmanship, and a seamless permitting process. Utility-Built Solar demonstrates LADWP’s leadership by deploying 25 MW on city rooftops, proving that large-scale solar can coexist with everyday life.
For developers and commercial owners, the Feed-In Tariff and Feed-In Tariff Plus pilots reward the generation of renewable energy and encourage the integration of battery storage, maximizing value for both the utility and the local community. Together, these initiatives reduce emissions, create jobs, and build a resilient grid that keeps Los Angeles powered when it matters most.
